We tend to get a shortlist of who they consider. For exp. One year Rihanna was offered, but she turned it down. She only accepted when Jay Z was working with them.
Another year Pink was offered, but she turned down.We havent heard a single rumor or report about Drake being offered the Super Bowl, but declining. If Rihanna and Pink declining reached the masses, Drake declining twice not making the masses is just unlikely.
Then there is the fact that this news ONLY surfaced on the same day Kendrick was announced to perform.
