For all you K Dot stans, I have some words of wisdom from the great book of Hov:
“Cause you don't understand him, it don't mean that he nice
It just means you don't understand all the bullshit that he write”
Kingdom Come
Vol 3
Vol 3 is one of my jay z albums, wrong. Some of the hardest and grimeiesy he ever spit.
Also kingdom come has been getting the apologist & revisionist treatment lately.
You a damn lie if you gonna sit here and pretend people dont regard that man as basically God & top 3, now adays.
Don’t worry, Reddit nerds always find a meaning to whatever random words he puts together
Lot of people exposing themselves as too dumb to get some very simple lyrics in this thread

Hes one of jays fav rappers maybe his fanbase just od dumb

Duh he’s definitely the goat, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t received criticism. Big difference from when people act like Kendrick can’t do no wrong.
not sure if this counts but he was defintely on some s*** when he wrote this
"Out the exit window of five G5's with five grand
With your granddad as the pilot, he drunk as f***, tryna land
With the hand full of arthritis and poppin' prosthetic leg
Bumpin' Pac in the cockpit so the s*** that pops in his head
Is an option of violence, someone heard the stewardess said
That your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread"
I love Kendrick and think some of the lines in this thread went over people's heads, but this part is just terrible

People today act like Jay cant do no wrong either i still dont get your point lol, this isnt the 2000s anymore when he was actually critiqued. Now thats all washed away.
Look at this site & twitter for example.
Kendrick only has 3 albums kinda hard to f*** up 3 albums if your competent no s*** he gets praised for it, so far. And he is genuinely nice overall so.
And most of his bars do make sense, if you think theyre dumb thats a different story.
Like that awkward Trex line, bro is just saying hes going crazy like how anyone else that compares themeselves to an animal in rap. Awkward yeah, but still makes sense lol.
My nana said my grammar can maneuver this industry
Until I'm stupid rich and now I'm stupid rich

Hot take but I really enjoy Blueprint 3 and it's not as meh as people say (outside of the hits)
Jay-Z put out an album every year from 1996 - 2003 (8 albums in 8 years).
2pac similarly put out 5 albums in 6 years from 1991-1996.
These guys were prolific, and their albums were not perfectly crafted. All their albums weren't considered classics or flawless. Their albums weren't concept pieces.
Kendrick goes about it differently. I think Kendrick legitimately has done no wrong in his career (at least since S.80), but he isn't producing content at the same frequency as those other rappers. I love both strategies because I love the immense amount of great Jay-Z songs I have in my collection, but I also love that Kendrick has such high quality and consistency in his albums. I also wish he wouldn't go on 5 year hiatus in his early 30s, but he's a true artist cultivating albums on a higher level.
cuz he is
nah
he a camel
not a goat

Nah thats the Control verse, it makes sense in full context.

He was consistent until literally damn.
Yeah he didnt drop every year after gkmc but it wasnt long.
He literally dropped KLEP in 09, OD in 2010, sxn80 in 2011, gkmc 2012, tpab 2015, uu 2016, damn 2017 & bp 2018.
Yeah i know theyre not all literal albums but theyre still full projects (mixtapes werent really a thing in the 90s nor were eps) aside from uu an ep & bp a soundtrack.
Only now starting in 2020 was the "kendrick takes so long to drop" sentiment started.
Its way overblown imo, but yeah damn/bp to now is long. Before that tho he was dropping regularly.

I hate bp3 & think bp2 is really underwhelming.
But i know there are those that love those as well, especially nowadays.
Every album has defenders & sizable fans (like me part of the vol 3 group), except for the most part MCHG.
Bp1, RD & vol 3 are my favs by him
Not one verse shown in the thread containing powersteerin bars
I'm disappointed

4:44 washed all that criticism away just recently. The Blueprint 3 and MCHG weren’t praised all that much. Well at least from hip hop heads for sure.
Kingdom Come is still trash lol, but I’ve seen that revisionist treatment myself.

If BP 2 was only one disc, it would be up there. S*** was bloated asl
