NewCopeJustDroppedDrakes next album will tell us a lot about how social perception affects someone interest musically.
Drake’s future’s got two paths: he either stops making music or he drops an album that flops and ends his career. I doubt he genuinely loves music. People think he does cause he drops albums every year but it’s just business for him.
We’ll see how long he waits for the next album. In two years, he’ll be 40 and if he doesn’t switch it up with his next album it might be over for him.

Appreciate the dialogue we can have about his music in here. Didn't even really want to post that because I've posted it before and had to go back and forth. But everyone been willing to just let me have my opinion or show me what I might be missing
Someone on twitter said it and niggas kinda clowned him for it but if you look st his discography like an arc from “i wanna save the world” to morale pretty much being “me wanting to save the world was a trauma response” it makes the album make a lotta sense.
It’s one of those that (and i said this the week it dropped on here) gonna have to grow with time. And i think that was deliberate.
The thing i do appreciate about kendrick is like it or not, he is gonna do whatever the hell he wants to do. Audience or not.

The “theme” nonsense is sheer marketing gimmick to allow artists to have extra perceived depth to their music and to paper over faults in the songs.
There were no themed albums in the 70s or 80s. Now you gotta fill out albums in the 90s or 2000s to justify the purchases by claiming theres a theme to equate it to reading a novel.
