I'm sorry, but if you base your enjoyment of a song on how many streams it gets, you're an NPC.
Yea it’s just crazy you’d never even heard the name before lol he’s one of the all-time GOATS in country music
Dunno...none of my friends have heard of him.
Facts...the same goes for albums. I prefer good quality over focusing on how many albums someone sells. If everyone focused on quality instead of numbers, the entire music industry would be in a much better shape right now smh.

Yeah that’s probably true and fine. Just highlights the different subcultures in the US and how powerful they all can be.

I'll do you one better: never heard of Garth Brooks until recently

Who's your top ten

He’s also a GOAT but I also completely understand this I feel like he doesn’t carry the same kind of name weight as George Strait (to ppl outside of country)
Have you at least heard of Hank Williams 🫣
Who's your top ten
Gonna be totally honest I don’t really listen to country music like that, just grew up around it my whole life
I WOULD however take a top 10 from you (if you don’t mind) and do some deep diving because I have been meaning to get into it more

My dad had a Hank Williams Jr. Christmas doll that sang some Christmas song

Nah that's Garth, at least of that era. I'm not even a fan but pretty sure he would've outsold Jesus in his prime. He's arguably the best selling solo artist in American history for any genre.
Pretty sure Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson all arguably outrank George Strait, musically.

90’s and 2000’s are the best era imo
Rascal Flatts (singers voice is incredible)
The Chicks
Garth Brooks (he’s not on streaming unfortunately)
George Strait
Kenny Chesney
Tim McGraw
Keith Urban (he’s actually Australian)
Sara Evans
Randy Travis
Jo Dee Messina
Tracy Lawrence
I don’t really enjoy modern country. And old country just sounds too dusty and twangy for me. This era had the sauce. It was country at its peak. I personally choose to listen to singles but maybe soon I’ll take a deeper dive into the album cuts
hank Williams
Gram parsons
Lucinda Williams
Marty Robbins
Randy Travis
Emmylou harris
Newer country is such a thin line between good and horrendous but sturgill simpson and Tyler Childers are nice
