This just goes to show you how different music is now

Pump It Up was everywhere in 2003 yet it peaked at number 38 on billboard.

All these artists be having all these "#1 hits" due to streaming but you don't hear them anywhere

1000% whole lot easier when all ppl have to do is listen on music apps and YouTube vs ACTUALLY BUYING the single disc that has the song, maybe a b side and remix on it

people were tryna say the two were the same but they really aren't.

I remember one thread niggas were legit tryna compare the streaming era to MJ's Thriller run

    That was embarassing

It's like comparing the nba before they added a 3 point line, nowhere near the same in any way

Snoop said Kendrick ain’t from a gang? Damn y’all flamed Drake for saying he don’t bang

Drake got flamed cause he's from the suburbs of Canada speaking on something he has no experience or authority in. Kendrick never banged but he's still from them neighborhoods and ain't no stranger to what was going on which is what everybody over there been saying since the beef ended. Plus he's obviously affiliated because of that which is why YG sided with Kendrick with no hesitation making drake look like a further out of touch with the culture dumbass.

Drake stans love tryna drop revelations on s*** that been in Kendricks music since day 1.

"I never was a gangbanger, I mean I never was stranger to the fonk neither, I really doubt it
Rush a nigga quick and then we laugh about it
That's ironic, 'cause I've never been violent
    Until I'm with the homies"

  • eye contact

Drake and drake fans’ whole narrative “lol this guy isn’t even gangster unlike drake and YG” literally just proves exactly what Kendrick talks about

Especially considering YG took Kendrick’s side in this whole thing. Drake did it for career and image and glorifies it regularly. Kendrick was raised in that s***, wants nothing to do with it, and even then has received the respect of everyone who’s stuck in that mess.

Not to mention the nigga has stated that he fell into a deep depression after gkmc came out, from having to fly back home to bury so many homies. Why would he glorify something that's been destructive to the people he grew up with?

#38 peak is actually nuts but it kinda makes sense. The Pop genre had a serious chokehold on the charts, but it's funny cuz pump it up really was everywhere

Not just pop music bruh. 2003 was just stacked. You gotta think Pump It Up dropped the same year as “In Da Club” by 50, “Right Thurr” by Chingy, “Get Low” by Lil Jon and more.

Like @WT777 irts like “two different NBAs”

  • College football almost here. We’re gonna hear this nonstop from every school band across the country. It’s gonna be a long autumn for drake

This exactly what I been saying on here for years that chart longevity > chart position in the streaming era.

A major artist having a song debut at #1 and stay there for only a week or two means literally nothing

Yup. That’s why people got so perplexed by NLU’s longevity they started using the “bots” argument they haven’t seen a real #1 in a minute

Funny enough if you apply the chart longevity> chart position logic to drake, you’d see he’s had a handful of smash hits since 2020. His #2 peaking songs managed to stick around longer than his #1 song on the hot 100 lol

Not surprising. I guarantee you most artists support trump low key

He looks out for the rich, they are rich

That’s why it should be about class solidarity first and foremost. Yall favorite artists don’t care about you
