v12i get artistic expression but that doesn’t mean artists are then free from critique. you really think because he had “good intentions” that means he can say whatever. niggas can push back especially if they’re part of the group he addressing.
Definitely understand Kendrick's sentiment, and I'm sure there is no harmful intentions with that bit on the track. Just honesty and transparency. But I think it's corny the lengths Kendrick stans go to say it's okay and he did nothing wrong when it's people apart of the LGBTQ who are saying it was wack, and saying it at all of his shows is a weird look.
No matter what it's always corny for people who don't belong to certain group to tell people who are in that group that they aren't allowed to be offended by a slur and how it was used.
