So Kendrick read the verses they wrote and recorded it so they could know how to spit it?
Thats not how it usually works.
If it was just the flow Kendrick would just go into the booth and mumble it with the flow being used.
The fact that the words are exactly the same clearly shows Kendrick had a hand in the written portion of it.

Most references are when an artist writes and records an example of how it needs to be laid down.
Usually references that include an artist just using a flow has different lyrics.

Yeah but a reference almost always comes before/at the same time as the lyrics, almost never after lyrics are finished already by someone else
