Seemed like Drake wanted to be friends but Kendrick didn't want to either because he just didn't like him or his background or what he represents, which is fair, but that upset Drake. But Kendrick uses the "it's rap" argument to hide behind instead of just saying "sorry I just can't be friends"

I feel you. Some people will never look at Drake as a real person. Everything he does has to have a narrative attached. He can't even crack a joke on stream without being "zesty" I definitely think if he responds like Duppy it will be "too serious". He has to find a middle ground. He should go for Omertà vibes, bars but relaxed/not intimidated

2wordsIts probably less serious than that for sure, but I think for drake he felt like he went out on a limb for Kendrick in taking him on tour specifically, and giving him his own song on his album. It’s a little more than just “making music”.
I’m not saying necessarily that Kendrick owed drake anything after that but in drake’s eyes he probably felt like he should get a little bit of loyalty or mutual respect for supporting him during his rise. And I did say lowkey. From drakes perspective it could be a lowkey snake move to just take and then not show love after that.
But my thing is.. what did Kendrick do to Drake that is looked at as “disloyal”? It can’t be simply name dropping him on the control verse. I wouldn’t wanna be friends wit a nigga that sensitive either

That’s entirely his fault, at least in the last 5 years where he’s realized that making hits and mediocre albums while maintaining relevancy through making a meme/influencer out of himself is easier and also more lucrative than making interesting albums
Honestly Nevermind is good though but it’s obvious he doesn’t wanna commit to doing that regularly
