Because what happens if you get baited and they have a nuke on the second album?? To me, him waiting out the second album made a lot of sense. There was a lot of uncertainty around the contents on that second album.
But then listening to the album at least eased the uncertainty. Sure there could’ve been a nuke hiding in the tuck.. but at least let the other side empty all potential clips before firing back. That was a mistake he made with push.

I’m iffy on the whole album thing. It could go 1 of 2 ways:
1. Kendrick drops the reply with his album, It hits and he does numbers. That’s a dub for him, The only butt hurt people who bring up the cheap promo tactic will be Drake Stan’s
2. Kendrick drops the reply with his album, It doesn’t hit and doesn’t do numbers. In that case he takes an even bigger L since he tried to use it for promo and still flopped
Kendrick not responding to Pushups, but then responding to Pac and Snoop telling him he's letting the entire coast down wouldn't carry a perception with it? That's the entire reason Drake took that approach and quickly. Same thing with saying he's avoiding Taylor, obviously anything coming after that weekend now implies that's true on some level. It doesn't have to be true, but you can't say definitively those aren't the reasons for any reply that follows.
#1 is a bit of cope. It's not really consistent with Kendrick's character to leverage beef for commercial success. That's next to needing Drake for a feature.
