Shady AntI agree that the stakes are high, I just don’t think the numbers will hurt for Drake.
Like, respectfully, Cole is more of a “rapper’s rapper” than Drake. I think Drake will see less of a hit, if he sees a hit at all, streaming wise if he loses, so long as it’s not humiliating like what Cole did.
To me, the stakes for Drake are in his pride and where he sees himself in the culture. Drake wants to be loved and respected by hip hop so bad, and I can see it stinging him sorely if Kendrick takes what he does have in that regard away from him.I think if Drake wanted respect he wouldn't paint his nails and dress like Yachty, not that there's anything wrong with that but we know how hip-hop is. This ain't the same guy from 10 years ago, he openly went at Fantano and Budden before and those are the mouth pieces for rap now. I think he used to want it badly but already gave up on the respect angle sometime during the pandemic era

Beefs really do have an effect, Common and Meek weren't the same after Drake and I think the same will be said about Cole losing to Kendrick in 10 years
Having heard Push Ups and Euphoria I believe Cole couldve held himself at least until now. And I think Cole knew he wouldve been able to. To this day I think the theory that Cole got word that this could get ugly and wanted to keep certain skeletons in his closet secret is the most believable.

It’s hard to put tangibly, but I think he went at Budden and fantano because he was mad they weren’t giving him the respect, and so he was trying to undermine their positions as people who are even allowed to give respect.
