Kanye picked his side

@op add Kanye to title.
Maybe this is just the “redditor” types I come across but I kind of disagree or at least have some other thoughts on it
There is a thing where they assume the role of a critic, and from my understanding this is fantano influence
But then I also think there’s another layer to the problem where they DO kind of put a lot of emphasis on what THEIR sensibilities are and what they like and dislike, and then being dismissive of certain rap because it’s off putting to them culturally. I think for a lot of these people, lyrics about s***seem to be a big trigger to make something less valid artistically, as well as if an artist comes off “too gangsta” for them.
It would (maybe) be okay if they said “this isn’t for me” but most people now use their subjective opinions to form an objective sounding criticism. They pick whether a song is good or bad, in a very black and white way based on their narrow personal taste that hasn’t been exposed to very much.
There’s a pervasive idea that all opinions are valid in music, that it’s entirely subjective, and this encourages people who don’t know s*** to buy into their own “taste” too much before they even have a chance to form it
Is there a difference between the Reddit critics who are close minded to music that isn't high art and the "you don't hear this outside this s*** is trash" crowd? Literally two sides of the same coin. There's space for both types of music to exist

We need more children in the world, how two men gonna make one?

This what I been saying yeah. At some point you just get to the age where you appreciate each thing for what is brought to the table, otherwise it's just not for you realistically. People don't know when to walk away and admit somethings not for them.
