"of the year"
I bet you never said this once when drake gets similar stats lol
it’s a common thing for stats to be recorded for the year SO FAR and then if things pass it that will be reported too, why you acting brand new
Also let’s not even get into how the Beatles and MJ comparisons are BS because they include features and the charts is too different to compare the consumption
But you won’t take issue with that, only this
We need to call out all BS, not just when it’s not benefiting our favorite. Cause I doubt you’re this critical of drake stats
They talking sales in the beef thread
And they talking beef in the sales thread. Strange times
No one is really completely objective
Everyone got biases
Obviously some people are leaning into this to ride for their fave which is why this thread is at 1500 pages lol
Idk man I’m pretty objective, I like em both equally and I don’t care who wins

Some people are
I want the best rapper to win though and I don’t know who that is yet.
It’s kinda sad to me how people decided to react to an album by a black man (when most of them aren’t black) exploring his traumas. Meanwhile, they’ll literally hype a dude (that doesn’t look like most of them, mind you) that has been talking about the same topics (toxicity to women, haters, being at the top, places they’ve never seen or can’t relate) on every album since 2013 with different sounds behind it.
And I enjoy DLDT, most of CLB and Her Loss and some of FATD, it’s just something I’ve noticed he’s been doing in his music and try to fairly critique. But I never see or hear even an attempt to do that from the other side. It’s always “numbers, auntie is a man, cheated on his wife” type s***
no way we’re in a thread about Kendrick and Drake, and kendrick is the one getting tik tok bait allegations
Absolutely no sense of irony

Maybe it’s not that deep and some people just didn’t like it
Things would be a lot less fun if people only listen to music from artists who look like them

I'm very critical of drake

You say this like Kendrick’s first 3 albums with substance weren’t praised and like TPAB didn’t happen. Morale tried to please everybody by combining TPAB and DAMN and when you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one
I'm very critical of drake
Real then. The stat nitpicking seemed like a slight reach is all

See the thing is Drake’s fans actually admit when he’s wrong or takes an L
I think you can remember TheGreatDivine slandering Honestly Nevermind when it dropped. Zack from the Six admitted when it didn’t sell well. I’ve made fun of several Drake songs I don’t care for.
Meanwhile on the other side, Midrick stans are bleeding heart & fight to the death no matter what it is. If you say you don’t care for a single bar out of a Kendrick song, their a******s bleed in rage as they sob and stomp on their keyboard explaining how it’s the greatest art in human history because it was written by a Pulitzer Prize winner. Such a pathetic bunch.
The world in a panic, the women is stranded, the men on a run
The prophets abandoned, the law take advantage, the market is crashin', the industry wants
Niggas and b****es to sleep in a box while they makin' a mockery followin' us
This ain't Monopoly, watchin' for love, this ain't monogamy, y'all gettin' f***ed
What the f*** is cancel culture, dawg?
Say what I want about you niggas, I'm like Oprah, dawg
I treat you crackers like I'm Jigga, watch, I own it all
Oh, you worried 'bout a critic? That ain't protocol
Top tier tik tok song right here

https://twitter.com/chartdata/status/1772937875518074914Sales matter again yall!
Yeah the worst part of Morale isn’t even the hoe scaring stuff, those failed stream bait attempts all over the album make it feel like he tried too hard
In his mind he was making an album that combined the weight of TPAB with the accessibility of DAMN and he unfortunately failed miserably on the second one
N95, Die Hard, Purple Hearts, and Silent Hill are easily some of the most uninspired material Kendrick has made since he’s been known.
Cut those 4 and We Cry Together and maybe it’s a little better as a 13-14 track album.
Rich Spirit, Count Me Out and Savior could’ve been the singles keep those other reaches
See the thing is Drake’s fans actually admit when he’s wrong or takes an L

Lol some of them on here for sure but even half of Kendrick’s fanbase didn’t like Morale
And let’s be fair there’s also users like Quadra who have never criticized drake in their life. a lot of the angels here don’t even know hip hop that well outside of drake
those moments of humility you mentioned are few and far between
Sales matter again yall!
You don’t really get to be on the side that made sales matter and then try to gaslight the other side with the “oh but they’re not supposed to matter for you” thing
Especially in this situation when someone is going against drake, yeah numbers do matter in that scenario for sure
