I've been outside the last couple of days. Didn't hear Drake coming from any cars however
Any new developments itt
Not wild at all imo, nobody on a mainstream level makes albums that are this catchy and also talk about so many different topics, if you like the album or not that's a different story
CATCHY?
Which song on that album was catchy?
The catchiest thing he had on that was the Boo boo flow and maybe the for free spoken word.
Everything else was a hard listen sonically. The deep voices, the drunk squealing (although I enjoyed that half of u). The distorted funk sounds.
Man come on. It was not catchy. I’ll give it that it was very controversial on a mainstream level but I think it was executed poorly on a sonic level.

World moved past the need for ghostwritten bars
Not only are Kendrick stans against Drake but Future stans are now too lol it’s not pretty for the boy rn
That’s fair I think for true double albums like that I give some grace (not fake double albums like some people do
Even some of my favorites do have some things that could be nit picked, i guess the separation isn’t just having less filler or less flaws. At the end of the day Big Jay and Nas just sound better than Kendrick on a track, and outside of the very impressive storytelling and conceptual angle of Kendrick’s stuff they’re better at rapping.
The music is still holding up for me today better than Kendrick’s because it still feels like music and entertainment, but an album like Reasonable Doubt achieved so much depth and told such a life story without being as bogged down as gkmc and TPAB. You can play it easier but it’s arguably just as deep and as cohesive. These are just nuances I’m thinking about as an artist myself and is obviously something on Kendrick’s mind too. No hate though
I appreciate you getting into detail about the greats. Obviously the whole sounding better on a track is based on preference, and K Dot's voice is an acquired taste No Diddy.
