The “every five years” between dropping an album narrative is funny to me because he’s only had one real hiatus between albums. From Damn to MM.
The fan pressure got to him
I won't say he's washed but his last album was forgettable and didn't live up to the impact his albums usually have and that's even worse because it was his first album in 5 YEARS and his follow-up to DAMN (his most impactful album, at least commercially). The Off-Season wasn't that impactful but Cole is rapping his ass off all throughout that project. Drake has remained active as usual, always proving his pen is as ready as ever. Kendrick is the one who bowed out and is now b****ing because Drake and Cole didn't do the same thing lmao.
His album was extremely forgettable, he relies too much on shock factor, "auntie diaries", "we cry together", its like he doesnt know how to make good music anymore.
Couldn’t have said it better myself, bet he was running low on rent money
And btw, Kendrick is still one of the best to ever do this rap s*** but like nigga, you DISAPPEARED. No one asked you to do that. In your absence, Cole has reestablished himself in the minds of the general public and Drake has remained consistent. Imagine your reaction to that coming out to diss them instead of using that as fuel to incentivize yourself to get active again.
2 years straight of d***riding and 0 good posts how do you do it
KTT while eating is dangerous
If we going by eras. Cole got one great album and a bunch of lame projects that don’t even live up to his mixtape days. Tyler surpassed him honestly
Don't necessarily disagree with this, most I'll say is I think Cole actually has two great albums and at worst most of his albums are just okay. Not terrible, nothing I'd say are blowing the doors down.
Dropping after 5 years just to tell fans to lower their expectations is some funny s*** ngl

lol
Drake and Cole on tour right now having some fun, Kendrick probably bitter. Short man syndrome strikes again.

Cole having to reestablish himself while consistently dropping projects & features his entire career is so hilarious, Larry David couldn’t write a better joke.
I see they already tryna do what they did with the Family ties verse this time around as well

Drake stans when somebody responds to his trash subs
"he doesn't have to say names its known"

Even then it was really only like 3.5 years cause BP Soundtrack was pretty big all of 2018 with King’s Dead, Pray for Me and All the Stars and he ain’t stop touring until end of 2019
Drake doesn't even have to drop to get people to write fanfiction
We didn't move
Good song though
"im on my healing journey" -> new album doesn't stick -> lets diss drake
It always comes back to Drake.
Dropped the mid steppers and that s*** had zero motion.
Hopped on the remix to that Beyoncé song and that didn't make any noise.
Dropped a song with Baby Keem that didn't move the needle.
Next up? Diss Drake so social media casuals can gas it up (aka the laziest way to get fans excited when you know your actual music can't get it done).
