lol if anything that’s more inauthentic.

Drake can’t even just post on social media and be quiet or just do his whole Ig caption thing himself

either has to launder all his s*** through people more palatable to the masses like Yachty or AK or Adin while simultaneously claiming to be anti-industry. Drake is so industry he can’t even relate to his own audience on a social media level anymore

dude launched an entire media campaign

he even shouted out Kai Cenat on Push-Ups, Kendrick was spot on with that master manipulator s***

idek who it was but i think it might’ve been @SegaDreamFlash that said he shouts out people to get them on his side to try to control the narrative, he did the same s*** with Meek Mill and shouting out AR-AB that was tied to actual street s***

No b**** everyone didn’t know s***. Y’all niggas went on for years capping about that man’s pen. Don’t rewrite history. Y’all were celebrating just weeks prior when Lupe was glazing Drake.

Kendrick was also un battle tested. Don’t get in here and lie

You’re projecting onto me, if you wanna talk about exaggerated fan takes you can just post your opinion normally instead of replying to me.

You’re reframing history to make your favourite artist sound like an underdog and it’s weird, we know they’re the biggest two artists in their field. Both of their pens should be respected and still are imo. We can respect and appreciate Kendrick’s W for what it is and how he played the game.

I can agree Kendrick had a perception of not being battletested, but that doesn’t mean a Drake W was guaranteed. He literally had an L on his belt from the last time he went against an artist who’s calibre of writing was highly praised.

Drake gets swag and relevancy with the kids

Yachty gets more respect and back into the spotlight

Well least you can admit it’s mutually beneficial and not drake just doing charity work

And YG and CB on family matters

Meanwhile YG was in Mustard’s comments congratulating him on the #1 and Chris was dancing to Not Like That in the club

it’s crazy cause i thought the situations would be completely flipped for this beef

i thought Drake would write a super strong melodic hit/banger just straight going at Kendrick and he would secure a #1, he would have people making TikToks, dancing to it, the entire kitchen sink

i figured Kendrick would be stuck making inaccessible but at least dense and thoughtful critiques and attacks on Drake’s character, but would fail to chart in any significant way, and the entire thing would be about having to argue about how Drake attaining a number one doesn’t mean he won, blah blah etc.

he dropped MTG (at which point he already won for me tbh) and then he just slammed him with Not Like Us which became a smash hit

beat him on literally every front

say what you want about the newer generation, they're a lot more thoughtful when it comes to music than the ones that came before them. if millennials were still the tastemakers we'd be talking about how family matters won the beef because it had the most quirky meme lines and IG caption worthy lines. to this day it makes me shudder to think that back to back actually has a legacy as an all time great diss song because standards were so low in 2015 lol.

nigga was praying kendrick had nothing else

I really want to understand why he thought Kendrick wouldn’t be able to come back from family matters. I think Drake really doesn’t rate Kendrick at all and thinks he’s overhyped. There’s no other explanation why he acted so cocky

Can’t relate to any of these dudes

They’ve all been millionaires for ~15 years

that’s cope and doesn’t change what I said

AK as a person is more relatable to the average zoomer or whatever just talking wise or doing random s*** like playing games or discussing music than Drake

maybe a no s*** but kind of contradicts the whole authentic, im fighting off the entire industry by itself

And an artist can still use social media in a way that garners authentic connection with their fans, yes even those that are higher on the totem pole. It something all artists now usually have to consider

Drake gotta pop out with a long term relationship, stay away from the 20 year olds and just drop some melodic hits that’s his best way back

when Drake says he has no friends in the industry he’s projecting

To him, anybody who has a seemingly sincere relationship with a peer that isn’t based on business or clout boosting is actually getting cucked and fleeced. Drake thinks the only reason he’s friendless in the business is bc he sees through the lies unlike everyone else. This is narcissism.

Exactly and Drake didn't realise how low Kendrick would go with it, and he also didn't realise that the general public would eat it up

Drake thought he was way more loved by the people than he really is

Yeah I think Drake expected it to be mentioned but didn’t expect a hit out of it.

    His mistake fr.

Kendrick literally built it up perfectly to the audience as they were waiting to hear it as a big diss. Releasing it as a hit song is KILLER. There’s loads of viral tweets of people begging Kendrick to drop the pedo bomb
