i agree, that's my whole point. back to back is definitely legendary, but it's legendary because of the context surrounding it. it doesn't hold up that well among the other legendary diss songs because it's too corny and unserious. it only could have worked at the exact moment in time it was released.

i feel a similar way about control, people's standards were so low that they took "i love you guys but i wanna be better than all of you" as some sort of call to arms that could potentially tear the game apart. i think it took pusha dropping adidon to restore the feeling of what a diss song should actually be like.
