Yeah they're both saying things about each other: THE DIFFERENCE - Kendrick is credible. We believe Kendrick. Dot's respected - on multiple levels (as a man, as an artist, by the streets, by the fans, by the culture) Plus his songs are better. His lyrics are layered, complex and substantive. Kendrick has washed your boy. 5-0

Nearly half of 7969 is an interlude and the first half by Drake is way too monotonous and that delivery just doesn't work on that track for me.
Daylight and Fear of Heights (specially the latter with that BNYX beat) feel like autopilot Drake + streaming fodder to me that he added to make the album more rap to appeal to everyone.
Should have put finished I'm The Problem on there instead of one of those.
i thought the monotone delivery on the first half of 7969 enhanced the atmosphere of the song. the whole album has this depressed, burnt out vibe to it, but that's one of the only songs that really leans into it intentionally. it helps that it's weirdly hypnotic.
i also like away from home and all the parties for that reason, those songs give me a distinctly sad and melancholic feeling, like drake knows his best days are behind him and his life is completely empty outside of his meaningless possessions and flings. i consider FATD to be drake's midlife crisis album, and that works for and against it depending on the song.

Recently read an article (by the ringer I think) but yeah they say this thing of providing receipts brought up by drake is very uncommon in rap beefs. Was Jay really 38 in them classes? Did pac really f*** faith? Was drake himself really waiting four days while listening to ar-ab? Him needing receipts is a sad symptom of what pusha did to him. Pusha really broke this nigga because this whole beef he was howling about a tmz rumor red button, it was never about rapping for him just like it wasn't about rapping after he responded with duppy but he was wrong cause Kenny cautioned him to keep it wrong and the pusha thing is such an anomaly

Drake stans going out sad!!!
Truly deplorable behaviour man
If we base it on the music, Kendrick showed a diverse range of his rapping abilities.
He gave us an aggressive track with Euphoria, an enlightening track with 6:16 in LA, a story telling track with Meet the Grahams, a banger with Not Like Us, which is a hit.
He also took more shots at Drake and had more quotables.
So not only did Kendrick have the culture behind him, but even if you remove all that, he actually did beat Drake rapping wise too.
Drake did good but he still lost.
There's aint no shame in that because Kendrick is one of the greatest rappers of all time.
kenny did not take more shots or have more quotables. actually listen to the music and u would know. kendrick songs just landed better w the twitter crowd that sets online trends (aka white nerds)
