I wanted to make a thread about that in 2022 but couldn't because I knew it would just get overran by rabid ass drake stans

Nav album being #2 and Lemonade being like 1.2Bs of its streams is hilarious

I feel like they barely listen to his music and that’s probably how it sounds on the surface

But I think Kendrick’s music mainly centers around inner conflict, like the “activism” they hear is a lot of Kendrick’s ideologies he would like to adopt but a lot of his music is about how he has a hard time living up to his own ideologies and views

If any other rapper not named Drake or Kendrick did what Mr Morale did with their album it wouldnt be considered a flop

I even personally didn’t like the Mr Morale rollout. I think he shoulda did 2 singles after the heart v and N95 shouldnt have been one of them, and he coulda easily did a good 320k first week so I don’t think the album should be absolved of criticism for its commercial performance but I feel like a lot of the conversation around it is too exaggerated for no reason
