It was a narrative that Drake fed Adin Ross that he himself said on the leaked version of Push Ups
Idk what they tried to do with that s*** tbh maybe they thought they can use it in case Kendrick dropped a bomb immediately after Push Ups but he took time and had Drake spiraling so he had to drop Taylor Made, he thought those mind games were going to work on Kendrick
