Music sales have been faked for 100 years. Every artist from Kendrick to Drake to Michael Jackson has had their numbers inflated

Prior to streaming the record labels themselves would buy the albums to make artists seem bigger than they actually were to generate interest.

Spotify used to be in Drake's corner heavy and now not as much. Drake fans didn't bat an eye when Scorpion's album cover was all over everyone's Spotify even on gospel playlists.

Drake benefits from autoplay as well

If you want a barometer of how big someone is just look at their ticket sales.

Kendrick is big. Drake is bigger.
