I think whether people like Ye’s later output or not in the present is beside the point (personally I do). Art is the expression of people and my favourite art is capturing an authentic time capsule of where somebody is mentally at that period. Kanye is exceptional at capturing that essence. And he keeps it authentic, regardless if people will like it and thats what excellent art is. And that’s what made his earlier work so great, people just identify stronger with that time capsule of him, than the present one.
