Depends on your definition of ''winning''. Who did most damage? Kendrick (by lying). Does that mean that he won? Well, yes if you are a simpleton, no if you are able to see the bigger picture and remember what you were promised and what the beef meant for hip-hop. Drake definitely didn't win for me. Kendrick didn't win. Hip-hop fans didn't win. Just a complete mess which is extremely sad considering we've been waiting 10 years and were excited to see the ultimate rap battle between the two best rappers from their generation.

    Tldr

Mental gymnastics when the outcome is clear and simple

    Kendrick won

but you could say the exact same thing for not like us. didn't they find out a good amount of the lines came right from twitter? kendrick dropped in a rush to cover up his daughter mistake and drake dropped in a rush to keep up an image.

That was a coincidence, and it wasn’t really that many lines and I don’t think Kendrick saw a tweet wit 5 likes from 2021 and rushed to the studio. It’s been confirmed Kendrick recorded midst of his records around the same time, if not the same session

I’m sure he went and tweaked NLU added some lines like the “Family matter and the truth of the matter..” line but no I don’t think Kendrick dropped ina rush to cover up anything because his camp had stood firm that the daughter exists.

The question wasn’t about bigger picture, long term cultural effects or none of that.

Ignoring the rest of the individuals involved, in the 1v1 battle of Drake vs Kendrick there was one clear winner
