Yeah I can see he was going for modern Take Care sort of vibe but a recent revisit of TC illuminated how not even f***ing close this comes to it. TC was like heroin that everybody couldn't stop listening to for years basically. Had a bunch of clear slappers and r&b joints so memorable and striking even non-r&b fans wouldn't skip them. Barely a wasted note. FATD has similar structure but is the definition of diminishing returns. The highlights on it aren't even half as good as the lowlights on anything from '09-'15. Back then at least two thirds of his albums were instant classic material. After 2015 it was down to about one third. Now I struggle to find any clear highlights.
