Those are Caribbean immigrants and people of Caribbean descent. Ya regular Black American or Rican or Dominican, Italian, Caucasian, Jewish person…whatever from Brooklyn isn’t walkin around sounding like

Maybe if they were raised by a Caribbean family but that’s pretty rare. Sure they might indulge in the culture as far as food or fetes but if it’s any culture the Non black prior of Brooklyn would gravitate towards first is “urban” NY culture.

I forgot how terrible Pitchfork's review of Euphoria was. Just look at some of these quotes:

"If he had bowed out like J. Cole (smart man) after Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” troll job, I would have understood."

"it’s six minutes of rambling over two of the worst beat switch-ups you will ever hear"

How tf is this guy going to complain about the gay jokes but then add Ether to the echelon of classic diss tracks one sentence later? They really got no better reviewers over there at Pitchfork?

When Euphoria dropped, I was a bit worried that Kendrick had unloaded all his ammo. It was an incredible lyrical performance and the disses were solid but I knew it wouldn’t be quite enough. I thought the “if you take it there, then I’ll take it further” line might just be posturing. 6:16 dropping made me realize he had more in the tank and was ready to deal with whatever Drake dropped.

Essentially, for me, Euphoria seems better in retrospect knowing what was to come.

Yeah we saying the same thing tho. I'm saying that it's all most 9 million people in NY and like 900k in the state that Toronto is in. But they have a huge amount of carribbeans in Toronto too so their influence is greater over there. The comparison isn't even worthy the same way we don't compare our album sales to theirs, 50k is gold out there due to the lower population but influences can be greater to that smaller # of people

thats a fair take. all my experiences were normal to me, i’ve always wanted to hang with the adults rather than the other kids, even if it meant to just existing in my own space while under their supervision. they made sure i stayed a kid, and i made sure not tell everything to the real adults (their elders)

I get that, I really don’t have an issue with the culture being so dominate out there s*** I got family out there.

It’s all about perspectives, black Americans just view culture differently. Mostly because there has been such a fight to validate the culture in this country. And then when it does get validated it gets taken over, white washed and sold back to the people.

There’s literally nothing wrong with this. The guy is paying homage to different parts of the diaspora. Busta rhymes is using this exaggerated patois as of this last weekend and you don’t bat an eye

Plus artists shouldn’t sell their wares at white auction houses if they don’t want rivals to buy them.

all im hear to say is thats not inherently bad without additional context. i’d like to think they conducted themselves like most people in their 20s, having their own fun, making sure i was good every now and then but doing their own thing

im not defending s*** Drake did, lets make that clear. but you cant take his situation and apply it to all situations as a one-size-fits all like you’re doing
