Agreed lol. It's just funny to me because while I don't think he has to be friends or friendly with Drake and Cole, him being upset is like an NBA player who sits out an entire season because of personal reasons getting upset that 2 of his peers, who are also considered some of the best players in the game, played a full season and put up some of the biggest numbers and had some of the best games.

Your response to that isn't to be upset at those 2 niggas. If you hated seeing that then simply return and play the game again (in this case, get to dropping music again) to prove why you're better or just as good. Cole getting ranked as highly as he is today isn't because he went at anybody. It's because he made the choice to remain active and to change the narrative around his name one verse/album at a time and it's actually working.

I truly do believe that all Cole and Drake want (or at least, wanted) was to see Kendrick active again because they know how important he is to the game.

Amazing take tbh. Honestly I think deep down in all of them they all know what it is at the end of the day, which really is just a competitive tide lifting all boats, at least I hope they do

Kendrick got that Kobe gene where he's just gonna win whether he has to be an a****** or not

Please, can we talk about how at the start of the decade, some people legit thought DaBaby, Lil Baby and Megan Thee Stallion were gonna be the ones who ran rap this decade?

I’ve been saying lil baby a one trick pony since day one, dude got so much mileage out of the one type of song he’s ever made

Sexyy reminds me of Carti a lot in that she’s successful bc she just sees thru the music and goes after the core, the essence, the ‘vibe’ that people want in a certain type of music (pregame bangers / s*** for baddies to get ready to). These other female rappers are trying to outdo eachother by rapping their asses off and it’s just like… we’re off that. Sexyy has good taste in producers, an appreciation for a tradition of inspired hype music, and goes for the essence first. Sexyy moreso pays tribute to the tradition of hype music whereas I think Carti is a driving force in progressing it.

She definitely feels like a throwback to them crunk days, them dem franchize boys days

I think they respect each other for what they each have to offer and if they really do feel that way then it's all good imo. I'm here for being competitive. I just so happen to think that the truest way to compete is by being active and using your music output to prove why you're better. Beef doesn't really do that because anyone can win for reasons that don't necessarily translate to them being the better rapper and at the end of the day, all parties involved still have to return to making music anyways but hey, that's just me.

I honestly think there was some weird drama involved in Kdots departure with TDE and he's still trying to find his footing with PGlang and all his new artists. Very much agree with you and hope he comes back with a vengeance very soon

It was but it was mostly people rushing to crown a new crop of rappers before those rappers were actually ready and before they had proved themselves worthy in any real way.
