Kendrick can have his feelings about First Person Shooter. Why didn't he speak on them in a song of his own?
He waited til he got in the studio with 2 niggas actively beefing with Drake (WHO CLEARLY RECRUITED VARIOUS NIGGAS THE PAST MONTHS LMAO). He fell into bait while trying to position himself as above his contemporaries and needing to clique up.
You again acting purposely slow if you think Future/Metro didn't purposely rile Kendrick to come at Drake lmao.
First of all Future/Drake beef was hella hidden before these albums dropped, Kendrick likely didn't even know they fell out and thought they was still brothers (like the rest of the public). Ain't no way he showed up to the studio for Future album thinking he could diss Drake unless Future straight up gave him the push to.
The first Metro x Future collab opens up with a bunch of Drake disses, so it’s pretty obvious that from the get-go Future was over Drake’s s*** quite awhile ago.
I’m not sure how reliable this information is, but Kendrick apparently sent in his verse (or did his verse) 3 days before the album even came out.
I think it’s plausible that Future and Metro riled up Kendrick to diss Drake, (I actually think that’s a good point, honestly) however, I don’t understand how Kendrick doing a single feature verse with them, is equivalent to Cole and Drake going on an entire tour together, and doing two songs together, one where they’re bigging themselves up the entire time and almost purposefully antagonizing Kendrick throughout the entire song.

“Everyone steppers, then I’m about to clear my plate”
That’s closer to cliquing up than doing one feature.

Drank in My Cup sounded like a drake song when it first came out lol, everyone was saying it and kirko got interviewed about it numerous times. Hearing it now, they sound nothing alike. It’s like a “Money to Blow” bite song

That’s not what y’all were saying but I’ll play: he did his one out of like less than five features per year and decided to address all the lil s*** they was saying on FPS. His feature has nothing to do with the rest of the song. If future was also dissing drake then y’all would Have a point but he likely randomly just did that after Metro asked him for a feature
These Niggas are also in the industry and just from making beats and being in low level studio sessions myself a lot of s*** that the general public don’t know is common knowledge among industry people. If they was beefing over a b**** or there was an issue with Metro (which we saw inklings of for months, I have a thread on here from like December lol) then I’m sure Kendrick knew that way before us or way before they even would have had to tell him
