    You're silly trying to draw a comparison between making an album to making video games and movies. One of those things is not like the other. Any artist claiming they need 5 years to make an artist is a liar. They're either just lazy or uninspired.

    I'm talking about MMBS moreso than Damn. I wasn't mad at Damn even though sonically it sounded like a step down from TPAB.

    This is a convenient excuse. Cole is also married with 2 kids and he was still able to drop an album in 2018 and another in 2021 as well as a Dreamville compilation album in 2019 and a Dreamville Gangsta Grillz mixtape in 2022 and that's not to mention the feature run he's been on since 2018. You think he's a bad father?

    Beyoncé is a mother of 3 and she dropped Renaissance in 2022, went on a stadium tour, is dropping another album on Friday and will go on another tour in support of that album. You think she's a bad mother?

    Kendrick already admitted that he suffered through writer's block and that was probably the biggest reason for his break. That's usually an artist's biggest reason for not dropping: writer's block/a general lack of inspiration.

    You forget that for these guys, it doesn't take much to put a project together. They've done it time and time and again in the past. The reason why such a big deal gets made about artists who take 5+ years to drop is because it doesn't take that much time to put an album together. Most artists can get that s*** done in 3-5 months if they're locked in. So when you're trying to claim you need almost 2,000 days to make 14-16 songs, no one is buying it.

    Also, Drake is mad involved in his son's life. Him choosing to keep his music releases consistent doesn't mean he's sacrificing time with his son to do that. It just means he's disciplined enough to know how to be best maximize his time.

    If his music isn't enough for you anymore, then don't listen. Who said you have to grow with his music forever? It's perfectly okay for you to outgrow the content of his music.

    It's hilarious reading this s*** when I've frequently caught s*** from Kendrick stans for saying I don't care much about DAMN and say its his weakest even though it was commercially his biggest album by Kendrick stans

    Untitled Unmastered, To Pimp a Butterfly, and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers are my favorite Kendrick projects and those are the albums that most people will say his least commercially successful.

    I've never given a damn about sales lol s*** the fact that I love Honestly Nevermind, and think that was Drake's best project since More Life despite that s*** damn near dropping off the face of the earth the same year it dropped, shows I don't care about sales.

    Everything Drake is rapping/singing about now is s*** he rapped/sang about then. The only difference is that back then, he was younger and so it felt more potent hearing someone that young make music about that stuff. He's older now and you're tired of hearing what he has to say because you feel he should be living a different life at his age but that's not a standard you have for other artists who are even older than Drake.

    I think every single human being should grow some in 15 years including myself

    I never said every Drake hook was top notch nor did I say I was the biggest fan of CLB. But Drake has far better books than Kendrick overall for sure.

    Drake has changed a lot actually. If you listen to an album like NWTS and then listen to FATD, you hear how he's grown jaded, even immature. He used to be vulnerable and sincere, and got shat on at every chance for it. The Drake is fruity/soft meme went on forever and was still happening during Her Loss (21, can you do sum for meee). He's shelled up now, and some can see it as regressing. I think it's sad all around
