Apr 12, 2024Block MutesonI like a lot of popcorn flicks. Crimson Tide works when Denzel and Hackman are in the same room. They lock Hackman away for too much of it, the massive submarine set renders the submarine setting pointless, and they just do a lot of running past each other. They barely got any maritime footage because the Navy didn't approve. And the resolution is a huge dud. Tension that hinges on a stupid piece of dialogue and everyone making nice.
I think Tony Scott is largely overrated in general tho
Okay so the lack of maritime footage makes a lot more sense now
