I can say that’s directed to both
Could also be Kendrick speaking in 3rd person like: "it's time for me to prove I really am that guy, they forgot who I really was just because I did some reflection" type energy
Reminds me of when mfs say he ducked big Sean when the heart part 4 and Humble were the responses
Sean is a different situation. Those were clear disses
“I put you in the game you a lil guy, keep ya mental album ya auntie used to be a man she a lil guy”
Mark my words Drake is going to say some s*** like this
KRIT stepped to him narrative yall just adopted is so stupid
Krit said on mt olympus he didnt take control as a diss, and then the rest of the song is him going off about fans only hyping him up when its drama (like you’re doing right now) and people taking influence from the south while not giving the southern rappers their credit
What was the diss to kendrick on that song for him to respond to?
Hope the hook wasn't too simple
Either way—nigga, I wrote it
Yes, I made the beat, yes, I mixed the track
I am far from wack, you a one-trick pony
I don't fall in line, I define what's rhyme
F*** what you was thinkin', bloggers they can quote it
Lotta rappers buried underneath my house
They know what I'm 'bout, you ain't even know

Damn thats dope your names quentin by any chance?

Yeah but they both been begging for someone to diss them especially Drake on that Scary Hours ep
Lol too true on the last part. But yea it’s kinda crazy how he has multiple songs like this too, but for whatever reason, this might be one of his most down to earth songs cause he’s describing and using such exact words and situations that if you’ve ever been through this with your dad you know exactly how intense and emotional this song is
I got daddy issues, that's on me
Lookin' for, "I love you", rarely empathizin' for my relief
A child that grew accustomed, jumping up when I scraped my knee
'Cause if I cried about it, he'd surely tell me not to be weak
Daddy issues, hid my emotions, never expressed myself
Men should never show feelings, being sensitive never helped
Ok i don’t like the unwarranted drake hate but this is funny as hell ngl
This why it's hard for Drake to reply and Kendrick chose the right moment after 11 years. The internet really is hating on him a lot so even if he makes a good reply he'll just be ignored
Hope the hook wasn't too simple

This is the Kendrick diss?
Listen to the context of the song he addresses Control and says it wasnt a diss and then is going off on 2 perspectives
Bloggers/critics and their off base criticisms of him
And then the rappers who steal from southern artist while being unoriginal, which if you think thats Kendricks hes talking about with that thats a reach
But heres KRIT himself at 1:08 saying he appreciated Control and didnt take it a diss

But champagnegroomer stans gon say dis song doesn't deserve a response löl!
