Since his last album, yes, he's needed to revert back to trying to beef with Drake to get excitement around him and his music again because his music outside of that clearly isn't getting it done.

Sold out Arena world tour for Big Steppers that became the highest grossing hip hop tour is falling off now ?
Drake doesn't even tour outside of America nowadays

I mean honestly nevermind was a surprise drop that wasn’t even a drake album. It was an experimental album nobody f***ed with.

Go compare it with her less which had atleast 2 weeks worth of “promo”

Massive cope detected and I'm saying this as a HUGE fan of HNM

This doesn’t make sense. DAMN was his most commercially successful album, and you say Morale dropped off because it was awful.

Wouldn’t it follow that DAMN would be his best since people consistently kept listening to it long after it dropped compared to Morale?

    No

He gained a new audience after damn do people listened. They didn’t wanna listen to it again or the singles turned them off

    It’s not hard to comprehend

Keep the sales brainrot in the sales thread please

Sales are as relevant as prizes and pitchfork reviews lol

Just because it don’t suit your argument doesn’t devalue them at all.

    I mean the issue is

Music is so subjective that people throwing prizes around and critical acclaim don’t really mean much.

Like you can’t gaslight someone into thinking their opinions aren’t facts to them

Popular music = more people wanting to listen

It’s never been hard. Look at MJ. Was he popular and s***? No lol

The top artists ever are top for a reason

Popular music is often accessible and catchy. That doesn’t mean it’s objectively better than any other music that doesn’t chart.

That isn’t even factoring in other aspects that contribute to a songs’ success such as marketing and promotion, let alone whatever is currently trendy or even considered “pop” in the music industry which is constantly shifting

Last week it was "Kendrick needs to drop a 2nd diss before Drake answers or he's the b**** in this story" now it's "KDots needs Drake's shine so Drake staying silent is smart"

They losing their minds cause they know he’s bout to get cooked once he steps in the ring wit Kenny

Since you want to talk about sales Dot's album had 300k first week. Drake's album that he dropped the exact same year had a 200k first week. So I'm asking once again ? What are we doing here exactly ?

This is a stupid comparison and you know it. Drake's SURPRISE DANCE ALBUM did 204k. And this is the same Drake who drops at least one project every year and has done so since 2015.

Mr. Morale was Kendrick's first rap album in 5 YEARS and his first rap album since his most commercially successful rap album and it underperformed like crazy. Even TPAB with its heavy, preachy message performed a lot better commercially.

The album didn't have nearly the same impact, commercial or even critical acclaim the last 3 Kendrick albums had and you're stupid if you think he didn't notice that.

He dropped a song with Baby Keem after that but it didn't perform anywhere near their biggest hit together. No one gave a f*** about the song. He hopped on the remix of a Beyoncé song after that and that flopped as well and then he disappears again for months and doesn't reappear till he's taking shots at Drake on a Future/Metro song and magically, THAT'S what gives him his first hit since 2017 lol.

No one is making anything up.

Man got to the studio 5 minutes after hearing tracks from people he thought he could easily walk away with a W. Now it's "he's plotting trust me"

You don’t even sound like you believe what you’re saying.

If you genuinely believe that commercial success is correlated with quality, DAMN being way more successful and bigger than all his other projects, that means it should be his best.

You’re slamming Morale for a second week dropoff and then talking about “nah he just got a new audience”

Are you a troll or what?

That's not how it works. Every beef and its response requires a different tactic. Drake not responding within 7 days does not mean anything, just like it didn't mean anything when someone like Nas did it.

You all have your cute agendas that you want to run, fair enough. But real rap fans know how this works.

You can’t say music is subjective and then use charts and commercial success as a universal indicator of quality.

    Pick one.

I’m saying Damn was his most successfully
    Commercially (which it is)

He gained some new fans (which he did)

And them same fans didn’t f*** with his new project (which they did)

If commercial success = quality then mr morale being a flop proves it wasn’t quality by my own argument? (Which was never my argument btw)b

That's probably the worst part. Drake's more aware than his fanbase that whatever Kendrick has for him on that 2nd track could deeply hurt his career (just like the Pusha situation)

    LOOOOOL

mr morale has THE WORST second week drop off in hip hop history

People came because Damn was a commercial success and left because it stank

We’re only talking about this because it’s Drake. Kendrick sent shots as Sean and NOBODY cared.

All these man’s lives revolve around Drake.

No one cared about the heart part 4 when it dropped? Please get these cacs out of rap discussions I beg
