This might sound like crazy glaze but just walk with me for a second…

The biggest takeaway from the show is that it felt alien. Not only is a conventional rapper uncommon for the halftime show but he also took a huge risk by not leaning on his back catalog and moving forward with mostly new (even unreleased) material instead. Obviously hearing the classics would’ve been a fun experience but it doesn’t leave much room for discussion once the moment is over and we all move on with our lives

If we’re being real, the controversy surrounding the situation is practically unavoidable right now and I get the vibe that this could lead to a shift in the paradigm of what we should expect from the halftime show by making it about performance art over a spectacle sensationalized by trivial wardrobe changes and megastar guest appearances. This has the potential to make the usual show the new “boring”

The NFL’s goal is to get as much eyes on the show regardless of whether it’s good or bad. Based on it being the topic of conversation way after the SB has ended, I think we can all agree that future acts have a new bar to aspire to

They ll probably pair the rappers with country stars or geezer rockers going forward to throw the maga crowd a bone

  • It felt more like an art piece than a Super Bowl performance. It was interesting to do that as a halftime show.

Probably but if I’m the NFL I’m looking at the discourse around this one and making sure I have as much halftime shows like this as possible

Doesn’t necessarily have to be rap but it has to be something that gets people talking and is inherently divisive
