Crazy how Noname made both, Cole and Kdot drop their social conscious image
Black women got that magic and just know how to humble a nigga who’s too full of themselves
I don't listen to Kendrick because he's not played in the streets/clubs

I don't listen to Kendrick because he didn't raise class consciousness and organize a real social revolution

So basically he wasn't being played in the streets
OP on point, and noname was obviously right as well. Free Palestine
Right about what
So basically he wasn't being played in the streets
I'd say TPAB actually had a material effect on social revolution - if you were in the streets during 2020 you know 'Alright' was being played over and over and over and it possessed a real, powerful energy. Now the entire movement being co-opted and dissolving into nothing is a different story, and bears comparison to the shallowness of the savior imagery
Funny how Kendrick been ducking responding to this thread tho
If you play Mr. Morale in reverse on 1.25 speed he actually sends subs out
Right about what
Clocking Cole and Kendrick for using revolution as an aesthetic while caving to and perpetuating the norms they performatively critiqued

How did they use revolution as an aesthetic?

He compared himself to Huey Newton because he dropped back to back classics and then bought a $1m diamond crown from Tiffany's

That’s not even what she called them out for tho. She was upset that they weren’t doing anything about the George Floyd situation or rather we didn’t see them doing anything cus they don’t advertise their activism like she does.

Using your platform is one of the most impactful things you can do as a celebrity tho tbh
You can call it advertising if you're cynical but activism needs promotion too

So what’s wrong with someone deciding to continue being an activist but silently? What’s wrong with that?
