Solace is slept on as an album, too many people talk about it like a song but Earl said it was his 4th album

I dont recall him ever referring to it as his 4th album but would be interested if there'a a reference to that

I wouldn't call it reaching he curated the entire thing and it wasn't good. Hopefully he returns to his Damn status with his next drop.

There ain’t no return fam. Curating a soundtrack for Disney has certain requirements. Even if it was garbage, acting like it represents some kind of decline is disingenuous and comes off as reaching because there’s nothing negative to be said about his actual body of work

An NPR video interview right after IDLS dropped, he announced Solace for the first time as his next album and said it was an album for his mom

Not playing dumb its just a poor take. Kendrick makes good music. Of course a 35 minute project of his is going to be good and better than many artists albums.

I dont get it. Earl dropped Solace. Its 10 minutes. Its better than many artists albums too. This example can be made for numerous artists.

Hol up chief if you're condemning takes that "can be made for numerous artists" then you can revoke half of the claims you've made about music. How can you make a point that doesn't have any crossover whatsoever

This is included in his body of work, his name will forever be tied to that tape. I'm hopeful that he can turn back to form, but he is approaching that age where a lot of guys lose it for whatever reason. No matter what he'll always have Damn and gkmc.

What I loved about SRS is it felt like it followed up on the promise of Solace, just in full length form

I would say Take Care, NWTS and IrTITL is better. That project did have a lot of older tracks.

Nah I aint phrase it well I take back the 'poor take' bit. What you said is accurate . My general point is that it aint like Kendrick just threw out some tracks. Like they simply didnt have a place on tpab. Like he's still evidently put effort into it and deemed it worthy of release so i dont quite get why we're surprised its better than others' albums.

Lol one track was produced by a 6 year old and had him playing around for half of the track.
