The issue is not that they are banning people that are inciting violence. The issue is that we have given Social Media so much power these days. The president of the United States communicated mostly through Twitter, creating some sort of monopoly there.

Should not do that. Don't give private companies that power, cause they'll use it however they please, as they should, that's not censorship. That is your own mistake for giving them that power.

Same goes for them removing websites from hosting, they have every right to do that, it becomes an issue because you chose to host your website which incites violence on their servers.

i love how republicans cry whenever a private company uses their right to moderate their platform

but they be quick to defend bakeries that don't serve gay people, using the "theyre a private company, they can do whatever they want" argument

Also Twitter and the likes are much more than private companies when their entire business model is for public usage and consumption

But I don’t care enough to argue with people about this.

This is America in a nutshell

A selfish country with selfish people who don’t care about anything or anyone but themselves and their own views

Trump should have been banned years ago for violating the same TOS people are constantly banned for. Just like he should have been impeached years ago for any number of reasons. Instead, they waited for all his evil to be done. Days before he will lose all his power, symbolic actions are being taken against him. It is meaningless.

The government-corporate complex did nothing. Now they are saving face. Of course, they had no reason to act. Trump was an unexceptional and weak leader with merely rhetoric distancing himself from his contemporaries. So many of his actions could have been recast or smoothed over by a liberal or moderate conservative leader.
