There are people that take genuine actions financially and physically in regards to reprehensible things that people don’t even talk about . Blaming the rise of Trump on celebrity or artist is inherently stupid

all i said was he and Thiel played a factor and that matter is a fact lmao. argue with 2016-2024 Kanye about it

Played a factor yes but thiel who directly financed played a larger factor it’s not really comparable

A household name is someone like MJ or Beyoncé, Lebron, The Beatles

Nick Fuentes is not a household name. No one over the age of like 35 probably even knows he exists if they aren’t in those spaces

Point is he’s a big figure in American politics now and regularly appears and is mentioned on cable television and by politicians lol he’s now a large figure in American politics

A genocide popularized antisemitism man give the active genocide credit too

I’m aware bro but acknowledging a GENOCIDE by ISRAEL does not necessarily entail being a LITERAL RIGHT WING NAZI AS IN GERMAN NAZIS and the youth obsession with it (esp w the leader of said Nazis being a guy who’s big break was Kanye putting him on his PRESIDENTIAL TRAIL) which one of the most legendary biggest artists in the world was using all the influence of which he has some of the most of anyone in the world and his wealth of billions of dollars to normalize and spread

  • hellcatomni

he was with Trump a month after he got elected weeks before inauguration as the first big celebrity co-signing him at Trump Tower as the most famous celebrity in the world. he and Thiel from non-political lense without a doubt normalized people falling deep into right wing propaganda in 2016

    THANK YOU yes

Yes the biggest artists on earth who’s main source of power is their influence and reach have no meaningful impact on culture or politics esp not the billionare who’s regularly considered maybe the most legendary of his generation globally ??

Did Michael Jackson speaking out on Palestine lead people to follow his lead ? You can be influential but at the end of the day people have free will. Media can construct narratives as they always do. The time of the politically active artist has kind of died down. Lupe called out Obama for Drone strikes and the public turned on him.

This performative s*** is goofy because again many of those lecturing Chicago about going to a Ye show dont speak this much on actual issues or do things about actual issues in reality. Dont volunteer dont do s*** but online moral superiority. Those that I respect the most do the work in REAL LIFE. Not on keyboards and crying about influence

  • An artist job isnt to raise your children. If it was then I would hold the same feelings I once did about Chief Keef viewing him as raising the murder rate in Chicago. King Von a whole serial killer.

    This is Rosenbergs pops btw:

Rosenberg worked for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) from 1982 to 1986, and wrote the group's weekly newsletter, Near East Report.1

Prior to this, he worked on Capitol Hill for 15 years for various Democratic members of the House and Senate.2

From 1998 to 2009, Rosenberg was director of policy at the Israel Policy Forum (IPF).2 He also published a popular blog on Talking Points Memo's TPMCafé. According to Nick Bunzl, IPF executive director at the time of his departure, Rosenberg was one of their most widely read columnists and bloggers, and that his signature provocative style pushed the conversation in much needed directions.3

Between 2009 and 2012, Rosenberg worked for Media Matters for America. He left the position after a confrontation with Alan Dershowitz, who objected to Rosenberg's use of the term "Israel Firster." Dershowitz threatened to embarrass MMFAclarification needed if Rosenberg remained at the organization.4

    Lol oh

Brother he put his billion dollar fortune and was in every headline with the reputation as a “outspoken genius who’s misunderstood at the time but people get later” with a dedicated global fanbase that saw him as such as one of the most powerful artists on earth to weaponize everything he built to platform and spread right wingers and right wing ideology and go against cultural norms to normalize things that r now normal. Excuses assuming my actual political actions in real life don’t change that and you cannot call yourself a leftist or revolutionary if your too weak to acknowledge a billionare’s affect as a mover of culture unless it’s in a way that’s positive to you just because you like his music. Yall only care about the culture and its purpose when it’s about technical rap skill and not every other rapper sucking off a fascist leader?? These issues affect people irl yes the cultural shift towards the right affects people on a mass scale there are thousands (more honestly) of kids who started on that pipeline thru defending the red hat era cuz they didn’t like ppl talking bad about their artist they idolize, or found nick Fuentes because of the huge boost Kanye gave him on his PRESIDENTIAL GLOBAL NEWS CAMPAIGN, or saw his meeting w trump and said “yk what yea I don’t wanna be put in a box” Every young right wing influencer loves Kanye and cites him as a childhood hero of theirs. Yea there’s issues beyond that but the fact is he as a BILLIONARE and GLOBAL SUPERSTAR with a PLATFORM of people that listen to him PURPOSEFULLY was turning every gear he could to enact EVIL that HURTS PEOPLE

  • Kojimbo

Such a tired argument. Anyone who has an issue with Kanye doing and saying horrible things is just being self righteous and has a superiority complex? Whatever makes u feel better I guess

Curious how you feel about Kanye saying he doesn’t gaf about Palestine cause kids in Chicago die every day

Oh no bro, you see he was "psychotic" so it's ok :)

we saw people make excuses for Obama, Biden , Hillary drone striking children, sending money to Israel, Killing Gaddafi as celebs showed up supporting them without any form of criticism. We saw Michelle Obama chilling with George W Bush. None of that is to deny Ye didn reprehenisble actions throughout his mental episodes and him distancing from Democrats and logic entirely at times.

But I do ask myself why I dont see many of these PERFORMATIVE ASS MOTHERFUCKERS do s*** but create a black square on their profile. Go to a singular protest. Not help their communities in REALITY. Argue online about absolute bullshit.

Nor will I ever allow absolute fools to lecture me about damage to communities, nazism or spreading of hate when they DONT PUT IN THE F***ING WORK

but when we get 5-10 years from his influence and all of the things you blame him for at what point do you recongnize people have free will and they are accountable for their own actions?

Another whataboutism that don’t got s*** to do with anything I said. Those things suck too. They have nothing to do with the concerted effort very powerful world famous billionaire Kanye West spent 10 years did and how and it is. Ur assuming I don’t put in the work as if you know me or something. I do that. It’s irrelevant to the actual discussion at hand. He didn’t just distance himself from the Democratic Party nor was it just episodes it was consistent over a 10 year period and he hasn’t done anything to make up for it other than a corporate Twitter apology and being “politically neutral” many powerful evil bad people have been mentally ill, a good amount of them actually. That doesn’t change the impact nor intention. I can hate those people as politicians and also hate the abuser nazi billionare as a cultural figure for his impact on politics and culture. Sorry but I don’t cop pleas for tools of fascism.
