You don’t know cudi’s history?

That “you know your friend is mentally ill” is not the get out of jail free card y’all think it is. Especially when the person you’re saying should consider this is mentally ill too

Cudi is always going up and down having episodes and he goes through phases where he tries to do this “IM SO HAPPY” thing whether it’s a manic high or he’s lying to himself and masking his pain

He was on one of these phases when this happened and it’s obvious from his response that he wasn’t in a great place deep down either so why does mental health only justify Ye actions but not cudi’s? The fact is Ye threw the first stone. It almost seems like you take ye’s mental issues more serious than cudi’s, I think you just have a bias of “poor crazy ye”

If ye doesn’t have to control himself, why does cudi?

Can you imagine being cudi, a sensitive guy, and the man who signed you turns all his fans against you like that? S*** must have felt really bad. Where’s the empathy for that? You don’t just get to do that to someone on such a large scale because you’re going through a divorce

I don't have a bias for "poor crazy ye"

I think he has turned into a bad person over the years and even outside of that I don't even care for his music too much for the last decade or so

I know they are both mentally ill. If Cudi was going through something at the time it can explain his reaction a little, but that's just based on speculation and guessing when you compare it to Kanyes very public mental breakdown.

Kanye wasn't even insulting towards Cudi he basically just said he didn't wanna work with him, fueled by Cudis friendship with one of the main sources of Kanyes issue at the time. Cudi, even if it was due to his own mental illness, responded to his friend saying he doesnt want to work with him by repeatedly insulting him which in my opinion is taking it a step further and with less of a valid reason to do so

Ye didn’t just say he didn’t wanna work with him, that’s minimizing what he did. He made a stunt out of it. Even in Ye’s mentally ill states he knows how to get the people going and promote a project. On some level, his posts about cudi were calculated to promote his album and not just him innocently saying in an interview that cudi wouldn’t be on it when asked or something like that. He threw a vulnerable person under the bus for promotion, even if he was personally upset too, I can’t ignore that motivation. He knew the cudi thing would be a viral moment and that’s what he chases. Ye is smarter than some of y’all give him credit for

He didn’t “say it” though he posted it in a way that was very clearly meant to get attention and be sensational and viral

So what you’re saying is, you don’t believe that Ye knows what he’s doing when he’s making social media posts and drumming up attention? You believe it’s just 100% genuine face value expression, he’s just venting or being honest, and there is no element or part of his mind where it is being strategized to get attention for whatever he’s rolling out at the moment?

Feels to me like you’re ignoring a very obvious motivation just to give ye the benefit of the doubt. Ye isn’t stupid and is a great promoter. He was going through some s*** but there’s nothing to suggest he was so far out of his right mind that he was unaware of his own actions

At the time I took it as more of a slight towards Pete Davidson, which he was doing often

And letting people know to not expect Cudi on the album

I didn't and still think it's silly to form theories about how this was actually a way to promote donda at the time by telling people an artist (who at the time was in Kanye stand good graces) will not be featured

The disconnect is, Ye wasn’t Cudi’s man, they were co workers with an already troubled relationship

It’s obvious cudi isn’t the most mature but it’s on Ye for starting it. Even if cudi’s reaction was wrong, this isn’t some normal “my man going through it” s***, this man threw your career to the wolves to promote the stem player

Was cudi’s comments the move, probably not. But that doesn’t suddenly make him the wrong one. It’s Ye for doing all that b**** s*** in the first place to take it there

Ye never really blew up on cudi in public like that for over a decade so why would he expect that necessarily? Again feels like just being an apologist for d***heads, “you know I’m a d*** so my actions making you feel bad are actually your fault”, gaslighter logic

The way Cudi reacted was a way a envious and hateful person in a toxic relationship would

Cudi was holding in that emotion and comment for a long time

So I don't feel bad for Cudi at all
He stuck with ye cause he was an opportunist and knew he would be successful with him
And soon as he caught a slight sub
He went nuclear
Even tho all he said is
"Cudi won't be on my album cause he's friends with Pete"

Why stick with someone that u dislike and gets on ur nerves unless it's for monetary gain
