In the show, the children try to create a functioning society in the town, including setting up a government system with minimal adult help and supervision.

didnt the show get cancelled cause of child labor
My life may be in headache related scrambles rn but not nearly enough to watch 5 hours of Hasan watching some s***ty reality show with no explanation from OP
I watched this as a kid and then again a few years ago. Premise for the show is crazy, they have those kids out there doing challenges like it's Survivor
They had an episode about how the town was filthy, but the whole thing was staged. Apparently the kids kept the place clean and production came in and threw a bunch of garbage around just so they'd have content for an episode
One of the kids, Michael, did a AMA

Seems like it could be true this what i could find:
CBS officially canceled the series. Blame it on equal parts bad press and poor execution. Legal issues may have also played a part. According to the New York Times report, families were not allowed to contact their children during production. They were also required to sign a 22-page waiver agreeing that CBS and the producers “were not responsible for ensuring the medical credentials of someone who might treat, or perform emergency surgery on, the children.”
This sounds like p***. Is it not?
Basically they told these 8 moms they were going on a dating show with a bunch of younger guys and they then told their sons they were going on a dating show with older women
It's then revealed that the guys the 8 moms are dating are the sons of the other moms and the guys are dating the moms of the other guys
