Lol another difference is I've been in the studio with Elton John,

How are you making money to invest in your music if you don't have a backup plan?

It's about not being a one-trick pony. I chose IT cause you can kinda do it from wherever but you also know a lot about computers/systems so it makes producing, engineering and a bunch of other s*** that you wouldn't expect a tonne easier.

That should be it. Nothing else needs to be said. I know you were in it and you may be jaded but if you were in the position/had the connections or merely STUMBLED upon the chance to be in a studio with someone of Sir Elton's stature - there's no way around you having more potential to make this music s*** really shake

...not everyone gets to casually say they were in a studio with him. The context doesn't even matter that's such a big deal. Leave your doubts at the door, you don't deserve em (and that is in no way to minimize your emotions)

If IT is your backup you might as well kill yourself now, more than 50% of HS graduates are applying for CS degrees, and there's at least a billion indians that will work for $1 an hour remotely, why would anyone pick you over them?

Comp sci/eng was a good career path in like 1980-2010, now it's over saturated. Go study mechanical engineering, data science or electrochemical engineering or get a decent basic full time job and save up for some property to start flipping.

Not being mean but I get annoyed when people aggressively promote their music. Like if people aren't already organically listening to it what makes me think that it will be worth listening to?

lol in my country IT is the 3rd biggest growth industry and they don't have enough people so the avg wage is 60k+ a year. Also indians don't know s*** about computers that's south-east asia and it's like $5 and hour and they keep b****ing about human rights and unfair wage bullshit so their wages keep going up.

Also I've actually led projects where work has been out-sourced to those countries and its known in the business world you get what you pay for, they're not coding geniuses.

All the major tech companies excluding the Chinese ones operate in developed economies and outsource menial work, to other countries, you sound like you've watched one informational vid on the topic and are all gassed up.

IT's a good choice rn, I'd be interested to hear what you think could be better?

Meh IDC like that I understand not everyone know's how to get their stuff in-front of an audience I just don't like when people post their stuff and then gas themselves up on alt accounts and try act like them humming is mozarts next symphony like I'm not supposed to notice bro talking to himself on 4 different accounts.

Also when it's just the same song again and again.

IDK if someone has 1 or a million plays I'll still listen if their not a d***

I felt like credentials were needed from me in order for him to hopefully listen.

I just want everyone to learn and get themselves on the glow up, in my dream world everyone who want's to make music full-time can, I'm trying to help people get there as I'm getting closer.

A lot of people don't understand the best way to make good music is sort out some side-hustle where you have a skill that pays your bills and doesn't take up your day. Being in a good mindset and actually having the opportunity to make songs when you want to is such a big thing people lose more of their time the older they get. Not as much with a side-hustle though.

I know a lot of guys who have decent IT jobs in my city? I don't think it'll ever technically be oversaturated cause some companies prefer in person or in house hours to call up

Lmao facts. Most guys that people stan blow up from doing side hustles to support music. Yatchy was a dedicated scammer and he would probably continue to do so if music didn't blow up

I’m Studying accounting, if my music doesn’t work out I’ll try to get a foot in the business side of the music industry with accounting. Besides that I actually dig accounting and in my city it’s a pretty safe good paying career

I feel so sorry for you, I wish you the best, but you have no idea what you're talking about. I used to think the same way back in 2015. You seem like a genuinely smart guy, if you ever need help pivoting career paths dm me.

You're like a dude choosing to study horse breeding in the 1920s, s***'s a bubble that's already starting to burst.

Go read some theoretical books on the "No Code" movement, you might understand what I'm talking about then.

Cheers bro, You too. Not having to have a back-up, knowing your going to make it big someday, s*** would be a breeze.

To be fair the motivation of getting to a place where I can drop that back-up is a massive motivator for me.

IT isn't bad im half s*** posting, but you gotta realize you can't just expect to earn a living wage by "being good with computers", if you're gonna do IT learn how to actually use linux and be a competent server admin, or study data science and write some dank neural nets.

There's gonna be IT jobs forever, there's just a lot of kids with basic bachelors degrees in comp sci who really can't do anything useful anymore. Literally half my friends went to college and uni for "comp sci" or "IT" and they're all making minimum wage working help desks. Which is fair because after 4 years of study they can barley write a calculator.

Lol horse/ any livestock breeding is still massively lucrative, google how much certain animals c***goes for, so by your assumption if someone had started in 1920 they would have better eugenics and be able to sell their horses c***at a higher rate then anyone who started later. In some cases theres one Lama farmer in Wisconsin who has thoroughbred alpaca c***going for 30k a pop, and it only costs $150 dollars to feed a lama for a year as their very energy effective. I'll let you work out if theres money in animals.

Also I used to live out in the country and a lot of those boys don't have dealers close by so have sneaky plantations they're more on the supply side of the industry then consumer.

A lot of business is about being the first to do something, I'd be shocked if a Singaporean version of IG or FB was to replace the American verison.

Linux and server admin is year one info tech you then specialise after that, you specialise in whatever you uni offers so maybe Ai, Data processing, Systems, Coding bunch of different stuff.

Follow your dreams bro, everything will work out if thats your goal.

As long as you have health and will, it doesnt matter how many times you "fail" . Majority of plans never go the way they are intended to be, if having a plan B gives you comfort and peace of mind so be it, but dont use it as an excuse to not give your 200% right now.

It takes a smart person a good 5-10 years to become proficient in Liunx System Administrating, there's a big difference between "Hey there's a thing called linux here's how to install it and use 2 basic programs" and actually knowing what you're doing. When I said learn linux I meant write your own distro or driver, not just figuring out how to get the wifi working.
