I dont see it being overly political but the orginal had the occasional episode about politics. As far as the tech aspect unless theres a time skip i dont see that happening but a big part of hanks character was not understanding bobby and his generation

Nah he was more conspiracy theorist than anti government. His hate for the government felt more like an extension of his wild beliefs

A lot has happened in the last few years for them to draw inspiration from. I dont see it having too long of a run but who knows
