there seems to be a lot of backstory here in terms of what actually happened, both with the fire that occurred earlier this year and now with the killing. they arrested the shooter and charged him with murder so obviously this is a homicide case. but there seems to be questions of: was the house burnt down by bigots, or did Joss leave the propane heater on? and also, joss may have had mental health issues as the cops reportedly got called to his address 40 times from january 2024 to january 2025.
i'm not saying joss was a lunatic and this wasnt a hate crime, but there seems to be more to investigate than just an open and shut bigoted hate crime. i hope the prosecutors get to the bottom of it.

i agree but police are saying they dont have any evidence of a hate crime.
i'm not saying the police are right or wrong here. there seems to be a lot of stuff happening between joss and his neighbors over years and it wasn't an isolated incident. i know we want to immediately categorize this incident but investigation is needed to determine what happened and the motive. it is too early, at least based on public information, to understand the situation that unfolded. it is tragic regardless

Jun 3, 2025Joss’ childhood home, where he still lived, burned down in January. He lost all his belongings and his three dogs were killed in the blaze. “We may have lost our home, but not our hope.
