Now he’s pushing the tariffs back to March 1st and is going to ask them what they want to be exempt?

Did he not realize that Feb 1st was a Saturday (aka Golf Day), or is this likely donor push back?

The actual answer is that he cannot actually implement these tarrifs to the extent he'd like because it would be a suicidal political move.

What does that mean though, and why would he care?

It’s his last term, who’s gonna kick him out?

So the Pres. Sec said the March report is false and the tariffs are going full steam ahead tomorrow, now including a 10% tariff on China.

    Why? What’s the end goal?

There's no such thing as "political suicide" when it comes to Trump. He can do whatever and his support remains the same. He's already done things that would be suicide for anyone else

this is the scary s*** that doesn't get as much attention. There is going to be straight up money printing into these oligarchs pockets, and in their greed they are going to fundamentally ruin the USD hegemony.

Government personnel received a strange request from the Trump administration in their inboxes just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday. It urged federal workers to quit their “lower productivity jobs” and seek employment in the private sector.

The mass email urged employees—including those at the Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.)—to quit less than 24 hours after a plane crash in Washington D.C., which killed 67 people and was suspected to have been caused by air traffic controller staffing shortages.

“We encourage you to find a job in the private sector as soon as you would like to do so,” stated the email sent by the Office of Personnel Management, The New York Times reported. “The way to greater American prosperity is encouraging people to move from lower productivity jobs in the public sector to higher productivity jobs in the private sector.”

In the form of Frequently Asked Questions, the email also encouraged employees who did choose to leave their jobs, to take on a second job, or to vacation to their “dream destination” while still on the payroll before permanently leaving. That advice is contradictory to years old regulations that have prohibited federal employees from picking up second sources of income.

It's literally Elon writing these emails. We just got follow up emails from our actual agency HR heads that they (paraphrasing) "pinky swear promise you will actually get paid through september, this isn't a scam!"

This is like, running up the biggest bag of your life and then shooting yourself in the head. Baudrillard was absolutely cooking when he said the end goal of America’s virtual reality was suicide

The language is entirely separate from regular federal government writing it's so obvious that it's coming from him.

omg now receiving alerts from HR that federal workers are receiving scam texts saying their position has been "deemed unnecessary due to the current downsizing/reduction in force operations the (agency) is currently conducting."

Scammers literally seeing the chaos and trying to capitalize on it

And Musk is currently trying to seize the Treasury, which should set off a f***ing Red Alert to everyone.

Like I just filed my taxes, is the IRS gonna even continue to exist long enough to get my return?

He will implement the tariffs that the donors and business class who put him there want, and will avoid the ones they dont. Very simple
