So they going full steam ahead with the isolationist economy thing? Apparently the internal messaging is to say that there are no negotiation attempts, it just is what it is.

Are the GOP as a whole on board with this even though it’s likely to cost them heavily in 2026 (which apparently the reason why they aren’t pushing back against anything at all is fear of getting primaried, but that seems like a bigger threat because of this)?

Do they expect Trump to relent at some point so they’re just going along with it for now?

The last time they did this they lost the house and senate for decades.

I'd say we need this to happen.

We need trump and his cocksuckers to keep doing what theyre doing. Dying on that hill for him.

We need it to ruin people's lives so they can finally wake up for this disease.

I just wonder if people are actually less intelligent than 100 years ago. We should be seeing they are all clowns.

That doesn’t make any sense though, they have to know how it would go down which suggest there’s greater intent with doing something like this.

Otherwise why wouldn’t Congress put their foot down out of self-preservation at the very least?

Instead of raising tariffs which will just give people higher prices why not just raise taxes instead and put it to some useful programs

when will yall realize that their ain't no master plan here and different wings of the bourgeoisie simply have different ways of dealing with capitalist crises that inevitably emerge

i think the state finds this course of action to be the more acceptable option to deal with internal governmental political and economic crises. so nobody really wants to put a stop to it, especially if most criticism can be brushed off as criticism of trump and his team alone

things are gonna get harder because of these tariffs but they shouldn't last too long

    Just gotta toughen it out

    prices go UP

you get used to doing whatever you have to do to survive and pay these absurd prices

    tariffs go away

    prices never go back down

consumers get f***ed until the end of time
