not to get all synop but if the price of american manufacturing is so high that our corporations crumble as a result there's a much larger ethical problem that exists beyond the value of our investment accounts.

USA is still the #2 manufacturing country in the world. Manufacturing often employs “low skill labor” which is the first to disappear with increasing technology/automation, not to mention globalization moving to cheaper countries of course which is what Donaldo thinks tariffs will help fix, it won’t.

So is anyone gonna do anything to stop this? They’re just gonna let one man wreck the entire world economy for no reason whatsoever?

If I didn’t know any better I’d say the GOP are letting Trump hang himself out to dry as cover, but I can’t ever see them actually standing firm against him.

They’re willingly making themselves enemies of everyone, including the people who hold the purse strings by letting this all come to pass with no resistance.

Let this be a lesson. People chose to ignore the type of person Trump is. None of what is happening is surprising. Everything he's done is expected behavior that he has shown to do in the past

"one man" isn't doing anything. the market-based system has internal contradictions which lead to crisis. if you don't like it you should advocate for a planned economy, global wage equalization, and the sharing of american monopolized R&D with the rest of the world.

I saw/heard something about Supreme Court can declare the tariffs unconstitutional when suit is filed against him. I'm at work rn so can't look up the details of it. But this of course assumes Trump actually gives a f*** about following the laws and the constitution lol
