finance bros brag about understanding “the economy” and “good businessman” but then simultaneously eating up every tariff and reverse tariff move Trump makes. On top of that people like Bessent just telling people to read Art of the Deal and “trust me bro” shows worthless an economics degree within modern economics is.
It’s on the same level of sorcery/magic as astrology or psychology degree, just existing to reproduce and validate the ideology itself
its helpful to think of economists as something like priests of capitalism rather than scientists. a product of state ideology and its economic system rather than something objective that can be wielded for the greater good

Every actual economist said all his plans are stupid as s*** why you gotta go after both my degrees
This administration is trying their best to look like master deal makers but they haven't delivered a single one so far.
Why is anyone supposed to believe that an alleged 75 countries (which he can't name) are all going to strike separate, simultaneous deals in 90 days? Let alone that this would all lead to any restoration of trust that could tackle China united
Kicking the can down the road was a capitulation to China. Few countries accepted the moves, markets were down, and the scariest part of it all was the bond sell-offs. The global tariff policy doesn't work if China retaliates and he blinked first

To be fair, he's (and I) talking about those influencer, douche bag types who had everything handed to them.

Psychology? Lmao
If the bond market keeps going the way it is Trump is going to announce that he had a very nice letter or conversation with Xi and this will end.
Where the f*** do they come up with the ideas of a vaccine curing autism.
This is the first I've heard of it.
Ive heard they cause autism.
And idk where that idea originated. But it has to be some schizo drawing two lines together out if nowhere.

this assumes Trump wants what is best for everyone
i think Trump is not only playing chicken with the Chinese but also the FED lol
he wants something to break, he wants the emergency he wants the chaos
he's got a gun to Powell's head and is playing Russian roulette, you will cut rates or I'm gonna make a crisis that forces your hand
Trump's biggest targets with this Economic terrorism seems to be the Chinese and the FED from my read of things. So him pausing tariffs on everyone else makes sense. he thinks he's Reagan forcing the Japanese to reprice the Yen by bringing everyone to the table but really only going after one actor.
He's trying to have a Mar-a-Lago Accord like the 1985 Plaza Accord. I think he'll fail at that probably but he could get the FED to move instead..
We might be seeing a generational shift. Hoping the bond market makes him back down.
He can obviously spin it as a win and his supporters and a giant news conglomerate will fluff him for a few days.
Seeing Trump acolytes going from 'Actually it's good that he tanked the economy, Americans need to be poorer and work in factories again, it builds character' to celebrating his pause on tariffs is just, I don't even know man, bizarre people that don't give you much hope for humanity

He’s calling SC to let him fire J POW we’re so f***ed if they let him do this
Who's J POW??
Who's J POW??
Jerome Powell the chairman of the federal reserve, organization that controls interest rates and money printing. Trump appointed J Pow in his last term and he’s been a godsend. Trump wants him to lower interest rates which would cause a lot of problems, so J Pow won’t and Trump wants to get rid of him.
Just look at turkey’s situation to get an idea of what happens when the country’s leader fires his Central Bank’s leader and decides his own monetary policy

Vaccines causing autism come from a fraud researcher that was paid to create false data out in Britain.
He was paid to do this, immediately caught due to how the peer review process works, and was heavily fined/imprisoned, and completely kicked out of his fields. He went on a big media campaign accusing vaccines of this as well before being caught, then fully admitting it was fake.
This was in 1988, there is a plethora of counter studies, copy-cat studies (methods reval), and further investigation over the next ~40 years due to the controversy. There has never been a sliver of research indicating vaccines cause autism before or since. There is still research surfacing to this day which all indicates it isn't real. He also only used 12 individuals in his false study.
I had multiple courses in my undergrad that touched on it, and a course in my grad program had us go through the original study and break down red flags where we had to note where the article came off "sketchy" basically. If it makes sense, we had to re-write the limitations section. It's probably one of the most discussed research articles in higher education of all time.
Important addition: they also said they won’t be responding to additional Trump hikes because anything over 100% effectively cuts off trade
The way they phrased that announcement was either them trying to get the last punch or daring Trump to move to a new area
I'll lose my s***
lol Greenland is getting basic income before us
I'll lose my s***
