2) GENIUS act failed the house vote 196-223 two days ago because Republicans broke rank and voted against it. Trump strongarmed them into voting for it yesterday
3) GENIUS act is a high priority bill for Trump which is why he is aggressively trying to get this bill to pass by the end of July
4) There is an August recess deadline which means there will be a pause on voting for all new bills for almost 6 weeks
5) The Epstein amendment was added by Ro Khanna to the GENIUS act vote to force their hand, because Republicans would need to vote on the amendment before voting on the bill. Epstein Files are a high priority right now
6) Since the amendment was unanimously shut down by Republicans yesterday, Khanna and Thomas Massie put forward a single bill today which will likely not go through due to laws around discharge petitions
