    *Be, he never topping that

Finding Forever had its moments but....yeah.

Be is the last true high point in Common's career.

I liked some of the Cocaine 80's stuff with him too but that's just me

4:44 is great stuff but it's really not untouchable, people who rank it ahead of Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint

Honestly never remember what Bam and Moonlight sound like until I play the album back

Honestly, when I looked at the tracklist on my phone, I had forgotten too lol. But both those tracks are dope

I just revisited 4:44. I love King's Disease, but I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed it more. But you never know, in due time we'll see.

Both are great. Only compared because Nas and Hov had beef if we being real. Such a different vibe and lyrical content is much different.

I'd say there are strong similarities in content.

As well as these both being late career efforts from two of the greatest MC's of all time.

They will forever be tied together, Hov and Nas.

There's nothing bad on 4:44 at all, just this weird gap between the crazy emotional high of 4:44/Family Feud and Marcy Me.

I know it's cool to s*** on Beyoncé on KTT, but when her vocals come in after 4:44, that's one of the great moments of his discography. Perfectly placed.

    4:44 is truly flawless.

    And with no rap features.

Features would have distracted from how intimate that album is. It sounds like it was made in a week, in a good way. Like he couldn't sleep until he got it out.

Crazy how big of a flip in terms of intensity and engagement that album is from MCHG.

I wanna lean toward 4:44 cause I just feel like it was the first time Hov really opened up as a rapper and admitted fault.

Braggadocios rapping been his thing since the beginning. To hear him literally apologize to his wife on wax was a powerful thing to hear. Also just felt like he was really just recognizing his place in rap as well.

Like I said in the release thread, it’s gonna take a minute for me to digest King’s Disease and truly arrive to my conclusion

4:44 is the album I wanted after WTT.

WTT gave us a glimpse at Shawn Carter.

    4:44 was a deep dive.

I agree. I love that. Damn dude that would be a great trend. I know it’s not a truly unique concept but being able to distinguish to fans the rap persona and the person behind it would be dope.

Like if Drake went conscious and dropped an album as Aubrey Graham I’d actually respect that so much.

I agree though, songs like Murder to Excellence was the precursor to 4:44 Hov
