I heard the news on my way back home from playing pick up on campus, I was in the metro wearing my Kobe's and Lakers hoodie. Somebody jokingly called me Kobe when we said goodbye because he knew I was such a big fan.

I already shed a tear when I stayed up til 6am to watch his last game (timezones), that's how much he meant to me and inspired me.

When I got home I just broke down in tears and cried like a little baby.

Somehow in my 21 years on this earth I've been lucky enough to never have somebody who was really close to me pass away, so this hurts so much, I can safely say that I've never felt this hurt before ever in my life.
