save for the government mandated lil pump track which imo aged terribly
"If I die tonight, let's bet I'll resurrect"
-this has been my favorite Kodak project since it came out (yes even though Institution and Project Baby 2 are amazing too) lyrically and conceptually i find this to be a pretty incredible project track by track. excluding songs like Zeze or Moshpit which were clearly made for a different context and i guess to serve as emotional relief? the rest of the album however is introspective, heartfelt and tbh sad as f***
-the beat selection is super varied and flawless. Zeze, Take One, Malcolm XXX, If I'm Lyin' I'm Flyin' are completely different styles!! not to mention they are really well produced and infectious not a single bad beat on here and Could of Been Different sounds like Four Tet kinda lol
he will most likely never reach this level again
but 2013-2018 kodak was untouchable
Let's talk about it™

I mean it's cool. Definitely got some gems, but Kodak was supposed to sky high after that tape. Never delivered.

mfs always talm bout sum hypothetical … how abt we appreciate kodak for what he is rather than some vague idea of yours he didn’t “live up to”

he's still dope but I don't feel his albums are nearly as locked in as back then
Dying to Live is a great album man
Get the label tracks with Purrp and them out of here and thats a perfect album. It’s a top 20 hip hop album to me on a personal level regardless

Absolutely perfect album that should have been the start to something way bigger than what we got

Yak was on a generational run from 2015-2020, as a fellow Floridian his music hits different.
