I concur! But it also means they haven’t “surpassed” anything except in terms of sales and thats only from a temporary (in the sense of decades) boom in popularity and a hell of a lot of payola

its just part of the game/what the market wants there i suppose, people seem to really enjoy live performances so it gives them something to stare at and be wow'd by
