To be fair most rap albums don’t but Kanye’s best albums (his first 5) aged well due to good lyrics and overall songwriting. Where as his latter albums relied more on production to carry the burden because he stopped caring about rapping well.

I agree with this but id say the cut off is yeezus. I don't think it aged poorly at all. Even though it doesn't have the most sound and cohesive lyrical content, I think everything fits under the umbrella of the album themes.

Yeezus is lazy imo

It’s basically Kanye’s version of a Travis Scott album and that’s cool for Travis but I didn’t grow up with Kanye not giving af about lyrics and rapping about swaghili and s***.

It’s not bad music it’s just not good for my Kanye standards.

If u first 5 albums rely heavily on good songwriting and themes along with great production and all of sudden you throw out the great songwriting and themes and just rely on production/energy i can’t put it on the same pedestal as his classics.

I don't think he had a lot of gritty and aggressive bars.
Kanye has always experimented which I appreciate and is one of the main reasons I stick around today.

Now looking at yeezus there is clever wordplay and a lot of good verses on it. Just because the style of rap is different from previous projects doesn't make it "lazy"

Sans ksg which I credit to cudi actually getting him to care about bars again.

He’s had his moments on every album but the consistency and perfectionist attitude he had with his first 5 albums went out the window starting with yeezus.

I mean tlop basically had dlc updates...Kanye doesn’t do that type of s*** earlier in his career he was a perfectionist.
He wasn’t dropping it if he didn’t think it was 100% quality and completed.

And I think tlop is solid too it’s got some dope songs and verses on it.

But like I said his first 5 albums were damn near flawless imo

He lost that touch with yeezus and none of his solos since have been consistently great.

All of them have their highs but it’s like a normal rappers album, it’s a mixed bag.

KSG doesn't have misses but the peaks on WTT are crazy

After listening to KSG a few times (its great) and going back to WTT

I'd say overall KSG takes it. WTT has higher highs but some terrible lows, whilst KSG is just 30 mins of fire.

If they had released WTT as an EP as OG planned it'd win this but right now I'm going with KSG

Also helps it reminds me of Yeezus at times, a top 3 Ye album

neither one of them my favorite albums by them but KSG I think will age better in the long run
